Empowering Mamas Through the Birthing Portal with Naima Dutton

Naima Dutton is a birth keeper. She describes her three years of working within the NHS as a student as "slowly but surely broke my heart into many tiny pieces with each woman I witnessed being stripped of the rite of passage that belonged to her. I deeply wished that I could do my part to change these experiences and even the system itself."

In this conversation, we share all the ways the industrial, medical birthing system is broken and what are better options for mamas. Naima is based in the UK so their form of healthcare may be different than ours here in the US. Regardless, wherever you reside in this world, I would imagine that we have the CHOICE to welcome our babies into this world in the sanctity of our own homes, surrounded by our nearest and dearest. This is how it's been done for eons, centuries.

There are a myriad of options to stay grounded in your intuition and have a connected, powerful sovereign birth that respects you and the baby. That's the thing - the medical industrial birthing complex does not RESPECT mothers or babies. We must look this fact in the eye and seek to make changes where possible.
